Running OM and CM under MS Windows

Although neither OM nor CM is a Windows program, they may be run from within the Windows environment as a full screen DOS session or windowed DOS session (Windows 386 enhanced mode only). Recent versions of both SOS programs are shipped with a Windows PIF (program information file) and icon.

Using OM as our example, here are the steps you would take to install and use it within Windows:

  1. From the Windows Program Manager window, open the program group in which you would like to store the OM icon.
  2. Click on FILE, then NEW.
  3. Windows will ask you whether you want to add a program item or a program group. Select program item.
  4. The properties dialog box will then appear. Complete the options as indicated below, making appropriate substitutions for the drive and directory designations as necessary.
