TOPIC..: Error 60, Invalid Memo File

SUMMARY ----------------------------------------------------------------

Uh Oh. Do you have a good backup of your data? You are probably going
to need it. Error 60 indicates that there has been serious damage to one
of the memo files. These are the large, free form text entry fields such
as the transaction memo on OM's transaction screen (prior to Ver 4) and 
the text associated with progress notes in CM.

CORRECTION -------------------------------------------------------------

It is a long shot, but try exiting the program, all menus, shells, etc.
At the system prompt, press <Ctrl>,<Alt>,<Del> at the same time to reboot
the computer. Now try the operation that resulted in the problem. If it
works now, then don't worry about it and go on with your life.

If you have rebooted the computer and still have problems, go one more
step and shut it down completely (AFTER exiting all programs!) If the
problem still appears after restarting the system, then we must assume
that the file is history. You are going to have to restore the data set
from your last backup. Depending on the file, you may have to restore
everything or just a specific file set.

It has sometimes helped to try running the FIX utility on the problem
file. If it works at all, it is likely that you will lose some of the
text that is kept in the MEM file. You may see a message to the effect
that "321 or 2,345 memos will be cleared". That means that the last 321
memos added to the file will have to be removed in order to return the
file to use. If restoring from a backup is not an option, then you
really have no choice. Here are a few examples:
