In order to assist you in filing claims electronically, some
local carriers will offer to re-map your billing software print
image. In order for them to do this for you, you need to create a
computer file of claims without printer control codes. The following
is the procedure for accomplishing this.
- Go to the REPORTS > Insurance > Create/Print HCFA Claims
menu.
- Press <Control> <PgDown> to get to the bottom of
that list.
- You will see the option File - HCFA 1500 format (Prompts for
filename). Highlight that option and hit <F10> to see what
is entered there. Leave the first line as it is. Something like
the following will appear on the command line:
SOSRRUNI HCFA1500 F .
You want it to say:
SOSRRUNI INTERLNK F.
Just overtype to get it to look like that. Press <F10> to
save your edit.
- Now choose that option to create your test batch for the
carrier. You can either send it to your hard drive and then copy
the file to diskette later, or you can send it directly to your
floppy drive and diskette.
